‘Baby Loss Awareness Week’ – Global Wave of Light | Window to the Womb

It’s ‘Baby Loss Awareness Week’ and this is a particular subject that is close to our hearts, but is not spoken about enough. Miscarriages, stillbirths and baby loss are more common than people think, and the heartbreak a family will endure can be beyond imaginable.

Baby Loss Awareness Week helps the bereaved families and finds them the support they need, helping them unite with others across the world and commemorating their baby’s life. It helps fund relevant charities and supportive organisations who can provide professional bereavement services, offers support for the family, and they work with health professionals to improve after care. On top of this incredible work, they also are committed to identifying how to reduce preventable deaths and support those affected by them.

Baby Loss Awareness Week Window to the Womb

One special thing about this week, is that ‘Baby Loss Awareness Week’ brings light to the subject…quite literally…

At 7pm local time on Friday 15th October, join the world in a ‘Wave of Light’, simply by lighting a candle and letting it burn for at least one hour. This is so we can remember the babies that were taken from our world too soon. Wherever you are, whoever you are with, you will be joining the world in a global ‘Wave of Light’ in memory of all the babies that ‘lit up our lives for such a short time’.

They are also inviting you to take part in a ‘Digital Wave of Light’ on October 15th at 7pm. To be involved, take a picture of your candle and post on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook with the #WaveOfLight.

For more information, please visit the ‘Baby Loss Awareness Week’ website, where you can learn more about how to get involved, as well as further information about baby loss.

Let’s light up the world for them this 2021.

Love from all the team at Window to the Womb xoxo
