6 Simple and Easy Mocktails to try

It is finally the festive season. But this year you are the designated driver or have a bundle of joy on it’s way! See below for some great Mocktails for you and your family to enjoy.

Non-Alcoholic Mulled Wine

Ingredients

  • 500ml pomegranate juice
  • 25g sugar
  • handful blackberries
  • 250ml apple juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anise
  • 4 cloves
  • 3 black peppercorns
  • 1 orange in quarters

Place the pomegranate juice, sugar, blackberries and apple juice into a saucepan. Heat gently until simmering. After 5 minutes add the cinnamon, star anise, cloves, peppercorns and orange. Keep stirring until you are happy with the temperature. Then strain into your glasses and enjoy!

Mojito Mocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • A small bunch of mint
  • 3 limes, juiced
  • Soda water
  • Crushed Ice

Muddle the Sugar with the leaves of the mint with a small bowl and a rolling pin. Then put a handful of crushed ice into 2 tall glasses with the mint mix. Add a straw and top up with the soda water.

Fruity Mocktail

This is a very Simple mocktail for everyone to enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of grenadine
  • 400ml of orange juice
  • sparkling water, to top up

Get out your 4 glasses and put a tablespoon of grenadine in each. Then add 100ml of orange juice into each glass. Top up with the sparking water, stir then enjoy!

Non-Alcoholic Piña Colada

This is a complicated one to make but it is 100% worth it.

Ingredients

  • 150ml Pineapple Juice
  • 50ml Coconut Milk
  • 25ml Lime juice
  • Crushed Ice
  • Cherry to garnish

To make the Mock Rum Syrup

  • 100g Dark brown Muscovado Sugar
  • 1 Pineapple, a few strips of skin, plus leaves to garnish
  • 5 Black Peppercorns
  • 5 Cloves
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick

To make a mock rum syrup, put the dark brown muscovado sugar and 200ml water in a saucepan, stir well and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved. Add a few strips of skin from the pineapple, add the black peppercorns, cloves and a cinnamon stick, then bring to the boil. Turn off the heat and leave to infuse until cold. Strain into a jug and set place into the fridge.

Pour the pineapple juice into a tall glass, and add the coconut milk and lime juice. Stir gently. Fill up the glass with a handful ice then slowly add 25ml of the syrup so it sinks to the bottom. Garnish with pineapple leaves and a tinned cherry.

Watermelon & Lychee Pitcher

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Watermelon, cut into cubes
  • Ice
  • 90ml Lime Juice plus lime slices to serve
  • 120ml Lychee syrup
  • Sparkling water, to top up

Blend the Watermelon until smooth. Tip some ice, the lime juice, lime slices, lychee syrup and blended watermelon into a large pitcher, and stir well. Top up with sparkling water and stir.

Pineapple & Ginger Punch

Ingredients

  • 750ml Pineapple juice
  • 1 Lime, juiced
  • Small bunch of mint
  • Ice
  • 750ml Ginger beer

Pour the pineapple juice and lime juice into a blender. Add the mint and a couple of handfuls of ice, then blitz until the ice is crushed. Pour into tumblers filled with more ice, then top up with the ginger beer. Then Enjoy!
